Now official – CEA separator association joins wood burning industry body
The Clean Exhaust Association is registered at the local court and aims to help build the future of wood-burning stoves
Finally, with the official blessing: The Clean Exhaust Association CEA is now a registered association with all rights and obligations. This was announced by Dr. Johannes R. Gerstner, advisor to the board of directors, at the 13th separator symposium jointly organised by the German Biomass Research Centre (DBFZ) and the Technology and Promotion Centre (TFZ) in Leipzig on 8 February.
He took the opportunity to give a short presentation on the association and its work. The association was founded in June 2023 and soon gained momentum. Two position papers and a statement have already been written and distributed to political bodies, and the CEA has already participated in the legislative process in Brussels. The position is clear: the particulate filter technology should be widely available and effective in reducing particulate matter. He sees the separator as helping the stove industry to survive in the face of stricter limits in the future.
In doing so, he made another of the association’s positions clear: regulation in Germany must remain open to solutions, and a fixation on one technology, such as the heat pump in the heating sector, is detrimental to competition and innovation. He wants the association’s efforts to be seen as support.
Four companies are currently members of the association: Oekosolve, Kutzner + Weber, Exodraft and Schräder. More are expected to join in the future. New competitors in the dust collector market as well as manufacturers of other air pollution control technologies for biomass boilers and furnaces are welcome to join the association.
The CEA (Clean Exhaust Association) is the association of the main manufacturers of dust collectors for domestic single-room furnaces. Its mission is to represent the interests of its members and to promote research and innovation.
