Dust extractor FAQs: Does the extractor remove smoke or odours from the interior?

The smoke that is visible to the eye consists mainly of soot particles of various sizes. As the electrostatic precipitator reduces the particles, the visible ‘plume’ is also reduced. What remains is a higher proportion of water vapour, which is perceived as white smoke.

The electrostatic precipitator alone does not eliminate odours in the cabin. But it can: If the extractor is fitted with a chimney fan, it will also provide a good draught when the oven door is opened – reducing the smell of the oven fire in the room.
